  • 96 - 15 minute increments
  • Push segments down for on time
  • Push red switch down to turn on; up to turn off
  • Dimensions: 78 mm high x 66 mm deep x 90 mm wide

5. Compact Water Chiller - 1/4 HP

During the summer months tap water and nutrient solution temperatures can easily reach above 80°F. This can pose a problem with nutrient uptake and also increasing the chance of root rot outbreaks. Hydroponic Systems can also heat up due to high-intensity lighting, pump heat or during hot summer months. For maximum production and highest dissolved oxygen, the nutrient solution temperature should remain between 68 and 75°F. The Eco Plus Water Chiller will help hydroponic gardeners to achieve this optimal temperature range with its internal micro computer and digital LCD display for easy operation. The efficiency of this unit it outstanding and is capable of lowering the temperature of 170 gallons of water by 10°F. The corrosion-resistant titanium heat exchanger is ideally suited for hydroponic nutrient solutions.

Features

  • Micro computer with digital LCD display allow for easy operation
  • High quality Japanese-made compressor is extremely efficient and reliable
  • compact size and easy to move
  • comes standard with 3/4" fittings
  • suitable for cooling both fresh and salt water
  • features a titanium heat exchanger for optimum performance and corrosion resistance

Specifications:
power: 1/4 hp
voltage: 120v/60Hz
wattage: 480
amps: 4
BTU's: 2200
product weight: 48.5 lbs
dimensions: 13"W x 15"D x 16"H
pump size: 633gph min - 1056gph max
chilling capacity: 170 gallons - 10°F; 100 gallons - 30°F

4. Aqua Heat Titanium Water Heater - 300W

Aqua Heat Titanium Water Heater is an appliance consisting of a gas or electric heating unit under a tank in which water is heated and stored.

Heater tube is fully submersible
• Automatic electronic heater
• Double heating tube
• Very durable and reliable
• Easy temperature control
• Temp range: 68°F (20°C) to 93°F (34°C)

200 watt - up to 50 gallons
300 watt - 50-65 gallons.

3. Dual Diaphragm Air Pump by G.H.

The General Hydroponics Dual Diaphragm Air Pump is the strongest air pump we sell, capable of delivering a powerful stream of air to four separate locations using the included fully-adjustable 4-way gang valve. This air pump is heavy-duty with quality construction throughout. Most parts, including the gang valve, are constructed of metal, not plastic like most other brands. The pump also utilizes rubber vibration dampening bushings for smooth, quiet operation.

An air pump used in conjunction with an air stone is an excellent way to add oxygen to the nutrient solution in your hydroponic growing system. This will result in a healthy root system and increased growth rates.

2. Sequence 750 Series - 4200gph (Water Pump)

Sequence centrifugal pumps are the most energy efficient water pumps available. The amount of water volume moved (gph) versus the amount of electrity they use is incredible. Sequence centrifugal pumps are designed and built to meet the special needs of ponds, waterscapes, aquaculture and large hydroponic systems. Buying "quality" really pays. Not only do you get years of dependable service, but you enjoy tremendous savings on your electric bill, every month.

These are the work horses of the industry. They provide tremendous flow rates, with enough pressure (head) to handle the requirements of most systems with biological filters and moderate height waterfalls. They are also used extensively for the transfer and re-circulation requirements of filtration systems, water features, streams, fountains, hydroponic systems and aquaculture.

  • Out-of-pond construction - NOT Submersible!
  • Less than half the watt draw of comparable submersible pumps
  • Ports are 2" FNPT suction and 1.5" FNPT discharge.
  • Units are pre-wired with an 8' cord and molded 115V plug.
  • Units can now be wired for 230V.Housing is molded of high strength, glass filled polypropylene.
  • Quiet operation
  • Dry run resistant mechanical seals.
  • Stainless steel hardware is standard.
  • The motors are TEFC, for excellent protection.
  • Motors are aluminum for added weather resistance.
  • Rebuildable, industrial grade motors.

1. Compact Fluorescent - Daylight - 105W (Grow Light)

The Compact Fluorescent has a built-in ballast, uses little energy, and provides the full spectrum that plants require. New technological electronic ballasts provide for instant, flicker-free illumination compared to early designed magnetic ballasts. Compact Fluorescent's last much longer than regular fluorescent tubes (most fluorescent grow tubes on the market begin to diminish after only a couple of months!). The heat generated is far less than any H.P.S. or M.H. light source - bulbs can be placed within inches of tender seedlings for maximum usable light without burning plants. Many growers who are growing medium to tall plants will hang these lights from the ceiling and position them within the plant canopy for intense supplemental side lighting to increase production. Compact Fluorescent's can be used "as is" with a socket assembly and cord (sold separately) plugged directly into the wall, or they may be installed in most of the reflectors in our catalog. Think about the cost savings on the ballast alone, not to mention the electricity . . .

A NOTE ON LUMEN OUTPUT: The lumen output on these bulbs are not stated on the box because the Canadian "lumen exchange rate" is so high. For example, Envirolite states that their 95W bulb produces 9,500 lumens but in reality it's between 5,000-5,500. Their 125W is stated at 12,500 but in reality it's only 6,500-7,000 lumens. The Compact Fluorescent bulbs we now carry have been privately tested and here are the results:

150W = 9,500 - 10,000; Dimensions: 12.5" x 3.5"
200W = 11,800 - 12,500 Dimensions: 14.5" x 4.75"

For an inexpensive reflector for your Compact Fluorescent, check out the Bright Wing High Wattage Fluorescent Grow Light Fixture.

The 105W, 150W and 200W Compact Fluorescent bulbs have been tested to fit the following reflectors: Econo Wing, Econo Cool, Large Unifier, Super Sun, Super Sun 2, Cool Sun, Daystar, Super Spectrum, Large Super Horizontal, Maximizer, Solar Bright, Grozilla, SunGro, Valubrite I and the Eurosystems Large Reflector. The 150W will fit in the EconoGro, but not the 200W. The 150W and 200W will not fit into the following reflectors: all P.L. reflectors, Mid-size Unifier, Radiant and Eurosystems compact reflectors.

Electrical Appliance

When setting up a hydroponic farm, using the correct electrical equipment is necessary for a safe and productive growing environment.

What is Hydroponic Farming?

Hydroponic Farming is a method of growing plants using mineral nutrient solutions, without soil. It depends mostly on high-technology electrical appliances to work. It has lesser negative impact on the environment and produces high quality food in high quantity compared to Traditional Farming.
